Would you like to see the Friday Call to Prayer implemented in Ottawa & other cities across Canada⁉️🤔 Regina’s first live outdoor Islamic call to prayer echoed through downtown for the first time on Friday. The Regina City Jamia Masjid broadcast its first outdoor Adhan at 1:00 p.m. before Friday Jumu’ah prayers from its new location across from City Hall. The call lasted approximately two to three minutes and is currently being tested under a city-approved permit. Mosque officials say the goal is to introduce the new masjid to both the Muslim and non-Muslim community while celebrating Regina’s multicultural diversity. The mosque says it plans to open its prayer space next month, followed by a childcare centre in August and an Islamic school next year.
