For the last 12 summers, Buy The Hood has poured into the youth of Philadelphia, teaching financial literacy, investing, Bitcoin, stocks, taxes, real estate, economics, entrepreneurship, and life skills. But this work has always been about more than money. It’s about mentorship. It’s about exposure. It’s about connecting our young people with accomplished Black professionals who can show them what’s possible and help them see themselves in positions of success. Scripture tells us that “a good man/woman leaves an inheritance to his/her children’s children.” While these may not be our biological children, they are part of our village. Their future is our responsibility too. That’s why we continue to do this work year after year. Because when we invest in our children, we invest in our future.
