Today is Zoe’s last day of the Twos class. And with the Threes beginning in just a few short weeks, we now enter her final year of preschool.
This was not a small year for our girl.
Zoe has always been our wildly, fiercely independent kiddo — spirited and certain and completely, wonderfully herself. The 2-to-3 leap is a big one, and we watched it happen in real time: her vocabulary exploded, her curiosity deepened, her wonderment about everything grew louder and more specific.
And through all of it, that face. You know the one. The cheeky, all-knowing look that says whatever you’ve asked of her is going to be done Zoe’s way, in Zoe’s time — and she’d like you to know she’s already decided.
I have a feeling that face is going to take her very far in life.
Somewhere in the middle of all of that becoming, she also became a big sister. To twins.
She calls them both “my babies.”
