Today, Governor Tim Walz signed the One Minnesota budget, marking the end of a historic legislative session. This session, Planned Parenthood champions did what Minnesotans do best—show up for one another. Minnesota lawmakers codified the right to reproductive health care, increased birth control access and funding for family planning services, and protected patients from out of state who have to travel to Minnesota for abortion or gender-affirming care. And that’s only a few of many bills that were passed this year. This incredible progress starkly contrasts with what happened in surrounding states where politicians banned abortions and gender affirming care, attacked drag shows, and invested more tax dollars into deceptive anti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers.
