Back in the 1990s, while most 12-year-olds were playing video games and avoiding homework, Michael Shaun Walters was travelling across America as a child preacher, delivering sermons to packed congregations and being promoted as the next big thing in evangelical Christianity.
Raised in a family where preaching was practically the family business, Michael spent his childhood on church stages, revival tours and gospel roadshows. His parents were preachers, his relatives were preachers, and before long even younger members of the family were being lined up behind the pulpit.
Television crews followed him as he toured the country, amazed by the sight of a child speaking with the confidence and authority of a veteran evangelist. For a while, it seemed like he was destined for a lifetime in the spotlight.
And then...
Nothing.
After 1999, Michael Shaun Walters appears to vanish completely from public view.
