• Nebraska Track & Field competed at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships last weekend iconic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. The Husker Men and Women had a historic weekend, the men finishing 9th and the women finishing 8th. Until last weekend, it had been 23 years since both finished in the top ten at outdoor nationals.
A historic weekend brings the individual performances. On the women’s side, Axelina Johansson brought home her fourth and final shot put title, throwing just .9 off the NCAA record. A legendary Husker career. In high jump, Karsyn Leeling and Ela Velepec shined with double PR’s, both jumping 1.90m and tying for 4th in the nation.
The men racked up All-American honors throughout the week, earning big points in shot put and javelin specifically. Cade Moran and freshman Hencu Lamberts placed 3rd and 5th, while Keyshawn Strachan was the National runner-up in javelin.
A historic track and field season comes to an end. Beyond gratefu...
