Portland celebrated the ribbon cutting of downtown’s newest plaza: Darcelle XV ❤️ Darcelle XV is the drag name for Portlander Walter Cole. Four months after Cole’s death in 2023 at the age of 92, the former City Council unanimously voted to rename the site to honor his legacy as a messenger of acceptance and inclusivity. An official grand opening celebration is set for June 25, with the park opening to the public next week.
