Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit has undergone a “successful” lung transplant, the palace said on Wednesday. ⁣ ⁣ The princess, 52, was diagnosed with a rare form of pulmonary fibrosis that causes breathing difficulties and scarring of the lungs, in 2018. ⁣ ⁣ Her condition had deteriorated significantly since the beginning of the year, leading to doctors announcing on June 5 that she had been placed on the waiting list for a lung transplant.⁣ ⁣ The operation has come at a stressful time: on Monday, Mette-Marit’s 29-year-old son from a previous marriage was convicted of rape and domestic violence, and sentenced to four years in prison. ⁣ ⁣ #Norway #CrownPrincess #PulmonaryFibrosis
