Something big is on the way for job seekers in the Central Valley, with North Fork Mono Casino planning to open in the fall. Construction of the new facility is being completed, and the casino needs to hire more than 1,500 team members. The new casino is being constructed in Madera, right off Highway 99. They are recruiting for a wide range of roles, including kitchen staff, chefs and cooks, food and beverage, restaurant servers, bartenders, and many more. Also in Madera, the Friends of Madera Animal Shelter is now seeing an outpouring of support from the community after a FOX26 story helped shine a light on the organization’s fundraising needs. After the story aired, the shelter received a $40,000 donation from the Central Valley Community Foundation, matching an original donor’s contribution.
