Marcus Pedersen opened the scoring in the 43rd minute after capitalising on a defensive error, before Haaland doubled Norway's advantage just three minutes into the second half. Senegal refused to go quietly, with IsmaΓ―la Sarr pulling one back in the 53rd minute to set up a grandstand finish. Haaland restored Norway's cushion with his second of the night in the 58th minute, but Senegal kept fighting and scored again late on to ensure a nervy finish.
