Yes, it’s still me… I just traded the heels 👠 for fins 🧜‍♀️ ⠀ We love seeing beautiful ocean photos online… but we rarely see the full truth. ⠀ 🌴 I live in South Florida, and even near famous beaches like Miami and Fort Lauderdale, many coral reefs are struggling. Areas that once had colorful reefs now have sections of dead coral. ⠀ 🪸 Why? Corals are extremely sensitive. Warmer ocean temperatures cause coral bleaching, pollution and runoff damage reefs, and Florida has been hit by a devastating stony coral tissue loss disease that has killed large numbers of corals. ⠀ Coral reefs support about 25% of marine life and help protect our coastlines. 🌊 ⠀ What we can do: • Use reef-safe sunscreen • Don’t touch or stand on corals • Reduce plastic and pollution • Respect marine life when diving ⠀ These photos were taken by an amazing aquaadventures001 father and his daughter who were diving there too! 🚤 silentworlddivecenter ⠀ The ocean gives us so much beauty.
