⚽️ GIVE THIS A TRY at your next training session!
If you want to develop the children’s ability to communicate effectively on the pitch, these two games work brilliantly.
In the first game, the children aren’t allowed to speak at all. If they do, the other team are awarded a free kick!
This simple constraint encourages players to use visual cues to pass and receive, rely on body language, and most importantly, lift their heads and scan the pitch.
It can be a real eye-opener for children to see how much harder the game becomes without communication.
In the second game, flip the rule completely. Players must use their voices. If a player receives the ball without calling for it, the opposition are awarded a free kick!
By switching from one extreme to the other, you’ll show the children just how powerful good communication can be. The contrast helps them realise that when they use their voices and work together, the game becomes easier!
