Pre-Med Spotlight: Siya Babbar ’27 🫆🔍 Siya was determined not to follow her parents into medicine. One parent is a physician. The other is an occupational therapist. Growing up around hospitals because of their work, she struggled to picture herself in the same world. But after losing a high school engineering mentor to breast cancer, she began to see medicine through a different lens. “Someone with so much spirit and energy should not have passed from her own body attacking itself,” Siya says. At the same time, her fascination with forensic science kept growing through true crime podcasts, books, and questions about fairness and truth. At Trinity, Siya realized she didn’t have to choose between science and justice. She found a path that combined both. Now a biology major on the pre-med track, she plans to become a forensic pathologist, using medicine to help uncover answers for those who can no longer speak for themselves.
