Civic Engagement. “Let Freedom Ring” by Paul Ramirez Jonas takes over the collective consciences in Philadelphia at a time when questioning the founding ideals of the United States and the future of this country is of the utmost importance. The interactive sculpture's cascading bells play “America (My Country, ‘Tis of Thee)” — except for the final note. The song is completed only when visitors ring the 600-lb bronze bell below, inviting the public to consider what freedom means to them and what it might still mean for our country.
