YFORY! TOMORROW! 🔥 Mae Taith Baton y Brenin yn cychwyn ar Ynys y Barri! Come down to Barry Island tomorrow morning to see Jamilla and other incredible Baton Bearers as they help launch the King’s Baton Relay in Cymru. 📍 Barry Island ⏰ 0930 “I am so proud and honoured to be asked to be the KBR ( Kings Barton barer) for the Barry Island leg of the journey for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. All countries taking part were given their own baton and a word, we were given the word “community“ and those who have been fortunate to represent Wales at the Commonwealth Games are honoured by having their picture of past and present put on the baton. What makes this more special is both my dad David Harris and myself had the privilege to represent Wales at a Commonwealth Games, my dad in Kingston 1966 and myself Manchester & Melbourne 2002/2006. We both share the red jacket and I will be for ever grateful that I got to share it with my dad.” - Jamilla Abbott #TaithBatonYBrenin #KBR2026
