Nicholas Marchese ‘22 recently graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point – and, pictured here, subsequently took his oath as a second lieutenant in the U.S Army. In the second photo, parents Joe and Joelle Marchese of West Seneca take part in the tradition of pinning the new gold bar rank insignia onto the shoulders of the graduate’s uniform. Nicholas will be stationed at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii as a Logistics Officer. Schofield Barracks is located at the foot of the Waianae mountain range on the island of Oahu.  The American flag in the background of both pictures is the one the Marchese family had fly above 1180 Delaware Ave. two years ago.  The flag was flown at CHS in 2024 at the request of the Marchese family as Nicholas was entering his final two years at West Point, just after he and the USMA’s entire Class of 2026 took the Oath of Affirmation.  Upon completion of the Oath of Affirmation, many parents have a flag flown at a notable locat...
