The man accused of stabbing his 74-year-old mother-in-law fiercely denied responsibility during his bond hearing Thursday. Authorities said 51-year-old Douglas Stewart was arrested Wednesday, after allegedly stabbing his mother in-law inside her Blacksburg home. Cherokee County deputies responded to a home on North Cherokee Ford Road around 11:38 p.m. Tuesday for a reported stabbing.
