State environment officials will host a public hearing regarding power generation at a data center development in Spartanburg. Last year, NorthMark Strategies announced a $2.8 billion operation to convert the former Kohler manufacturing plant on South Pine Street into a high-performance computing center. On March 4, 2026, the company filed this new permit application to create 11 additional natural gas-powered turbines.
