Chuck Wright, the former sheriff of Spartanburg County, requested a lighter prison sentence, or "downward variance," in a court document filed Tuesday. A court sentencing guideline filed June 17 recommended Wright's sentence range from 33 to 41 months, in addition to paying $462,866.06 in restitution.
