Matt and Marlin allowed me to really experiment with how a project for the clubhouse could play out. And that trust allowed us to create something really cool and fabulistic. A lot of people watching this won't realize that the concept of kids having a hand in the design of the building wasn't just a fantasy aspect of the story. Kids actually voted on what the facility would include, down to the furniture. They trust that kids know what they want and they just provide the support for it. It's probably cheesy to say that making this made me feel like a little kid with a VHS camera again. But it did. I was able to put my full effort into something I'm obsessed with and grow because of it.
