After 10 years of fertility issues we sat down with the doctors who explained to Rick and I that our chances of having a child together was nil. After attending therapy to face those big feelings and grieve the life we thought we would have…we surrendered. Rick was the best guy I knew and the thought of him never having biological children nearly broke me. I was a single mother when we got together so of course he would have the opportunity to get to experience a form of fatherhood with Zariyah but in my mind, that wasn’t enough. We always hear, “make sure your choose the best dad for your kids” and when it didn’t happen for him I was so angry because I just knew in my heart, that he was going to be the best dad any child could have.
