Kids ask me a lot about FT technique and how to improve.
Growing up I represented my country, and I played professionally for 6 years. The way i played as a junior and a senior were very different, but FT were always important.
The way i play is aggressive, i am big and strong, but can handle the ball and drive to the basket, i like to play in the post, and i like the contact and physicality. That means i inevitably get fouled.
As a junior i was hyper competitive and aggressive and i would get fouled constantly. Initially i wasn’t a very good FT shooter, and so teams would foul me rather than allow me to score. I would lose my temper a lot from frustration of being hacked , and that would often see me get technical fouls or ejected 😡
I had to learn to control myself, and also be a great FT shooter so they couldn’t keep fouling me.
