This was the town’s seventh year formally celebrating Juneteenth, the U.S. federal holiday commemorating the official end of the country’s slavery in 1865. The event followed Friday’s Juneteenth Art Exhibition and was put together by the Borough of State College, Penn State’s Center for the Performing Arts and the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau.
