This video took me forever to make because I couldn’t stop crying. I don’t even know if I have the words to explain what I witnessed this weekend. One hundred days ago, Brae was handed a completely wild donkey. A donkey that didn’t know her, didn’t trust her, and certainly had no reason to follow her. Today, I watched that same donkey move through obstacles and perform a freestyle routine with a little girl who simply refused to give up on him. As someone surrounded by donkeys every single day, I know how independent they are. I know they have their own opinions, their own fears, and their own timelines. What Brae accomplished wasn’t about training. It was about trust. It was about patience. It was about love.
