Just watched Caitlin Clark get taken to the floor in a WNBA pile-up with a fist to the neck and unnecessary contact. She’s down, she’s hurting, and nothing gets called. This isn’t basketball, it’s targeted aggression and misplaced competitiveness.
In any competitive game, whether it’s sports or business, you don’t let things get out of hand.
You protect your stars.
You set the standard.
You don’t allow cheap shots to hurt the talent that’s helping you grow the entire league.
It’s always okay to compete and sometimes it gets physical in basketball.
It’s never okay to play dirty or target players, which is exactly what this is.
