In a post on X, Ross wrote that he was on "Day 22 in the hospital in Norman," referring to Norman, Oklahoma, where he lives, and said he was passing the time watching the College World Series and his Oklahoma Sooners. "Thanks for everyone's kind thoughts and prayers," Ross wrote. "Don't count me out just yet. I'm still fighting!" Ross, 74, did not detail the reason for the hospital stay. He has faced a series of health challenges in recent years, including skin cancer in 2021, hip surgery in 2024, and a 2025 colon cancer diagnosis that he later said was resolved.
