If your child only wants crunchy foods, don't fight it- use it:) A lot of picky eaters aren't just "being picky." They may genuinely prefer foods with a predictable texture because they know exactly what to expect with every bite. Crunchy foods often feel safer than soft, mushy, or mixed textures. Instead of trying to replace those crunchy foods right away, build from them. 🍉 Watermelon is a great example. A cold, crisp watermelon has that satisfying crunch while still introducing something fresh, juicy, and naturally sweet. It can be an easy bridge between familiar "safe" foods and new fruits. Some other crunchy foods to try: • Apples • Cucumbers • Snap peas • Bell peppers • Carrots (if age-appropriate) • Freeze-dried fruit • Toasted whole grain bread The goal isn't to make them eat everything overnight. It's to find foods that feel familiar while gently expanding what they're willing to try. Remember: ✔️ Pressure usually backfires. ✔️ Exposure counts, even if they don't take a bite....
