🏆 The winners have been announced for the Allstate #SugarBowl New Orleans Sports Awards! Selected by the New Orleans Sports Awards Committee, the honorees will be recognized at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Sports Awards Banquet, presented by LCMC Health. LSU gymnastics standout Kailin Chio and Brother Martin football and track star Easton Royal earned the James J. Corbett Awards as Louisiana’s top female and male non-professional athletes. Royal and Sacred Heart’s Leah Varisco, an MVP in four sports, were named the Outstanding Male and Female Athletes from the New Orleans area. State champion teams Jesuit boys soccer and John Curtis girls basketball were recognized as the Outstanding High School Teams. Coaching honors went to St. Charles Catholic’s Wayne Stein (Outstanding Boys Prep Coach), Pope John Paul II’s Maureen Homburg (Outstanding Girls Prep Coach), and Tulane’s Jon Sumrall (Outstanding College Coach).
