Enoki, the Oregon Zoo’s female red panda, has a new playmate, and keepers are hoping romance develops. Liu, a 6-year-old male red panda — described by Carlos Sanchez, the zoo’s director of animal health, as “very handsome” with a “surfer blond” tail — arrived from the Toledo Zoo last week, a Wednesday news release from the zoo said. Keepers hope to introduce the pandas to one another in the next few days.
