These San Francisco women helped make more than a million surgical dressings in 1941, at least four months before the attack on Pearl Harbor. The dressings were used to care for wounded soldiers and civilians in China. These five women were part of the Production Corps, one of the largest groups of Red Cross volunteers during World War II.
