Thousands of bottles of a blood pressure medication are being recalled nationwide, according to a recent announcement from the Food and Drug Administration.
The recall includes: Chlorthalidone Tablets, USP, 25 mg, [100 or 1000]
According to the latest recall alert, issued on June 5, Inventia Healthcare Limited issued a voluntary recall of certain bottles of Chlorthalidone Tablets. The reason listed for the recall was "failed dissolution specifications."
According to the FDA, more than 11,400 bottles were involved. They were set to expire in April 2027.
The Mayo Clinic reports Chlorthalidone "is used alone or together with other medicines to treat high blood pressure (hypertension)." It can also be used to treat fluid retention.
