As the number of satellites in space continues to grow, quick communication between operators is becoming increasingly important for safe and sustainable space operations. Ahead of COPUOS, UNOOSA brought together members of the Expert Group on Space Situational Awareness for a table-top exercise in Vienna. One area of focus: there is still no global mechanism that allows satellite operators to rapidly identify and contact one another when urgent coordination is needed. 🌍 That is why UNOOSA developed the UN Satellite Operator Contact Hub (UN SOCH).
