I don’t think grief leaves us unchanged.
How could it?
How could losing someone you love not change the way you see the world?
Four years after losing my father and godfather, I don’t think I’m the same person I was before.
Some parts of me became softer.
Some parts became stronger.
Some parts never fully came back.
But grief also taught me things I never would have learned otherwise.
To pay attention.
To love people while they’re here.
To stop assuming there’s always more time.
To find beauty in ordinary moments.
So yes, I believe you can heal.
I just don’t believe you’ll be the same.
And maybe that’s not a bad thing.
Maybe healing isn’t becoming who you were before.
Maybe it’s becoming someone new. 🤍
