Most of America can’t see the Milky Way anymore… but Flagstaff is trying to make sure Arizona still can. ADOT just completed a $1.1 million project replacing nearly 400 highway lights around Flagstaff with new amber LED lights designed to reduce light pollution while still improving road safety. Flagstaff has spent decades limiting light pollution and became the world’s first International Dark Sky City in 2001. The new lights are the latest effort to help keep one of Arizona’s rarest views visible. Via ADOT.
