A National Geographic documentary shows a single orca striking a great white shark like a torpedo – breaking its ribs, immobilizing it, and then taking it in its mouth. “They’re learning. They’re learning all the time. I think it’s hard for people to kind of understand how smart these animals are,” marine biologist Alison Kock says of orcas, also known as killer whales.
