Marine biologist Alison Kock began searching for clues when great white sharks started disappearing off South Africa’s coastal waters On washed-up carcasses of sharks, she found mysterious incisions. And the sharks were missing their livers. While diving for evidence, she encountered an unlikely suspect: an orca, also known as a killer whale. “For South Africa, this was completely novel.
