5 years ago, Doja Cat released her third studio album ‘Planet Her.’ The record became a global success, spending four non-consecutive weeks at its peak of number two on the US Billboard 200 chart and hitting number one in New Zealand. It made history as the first album by a female rapper to remain in the Billboard 200 top ten for 33 weeks. By the end of 2021, it ranked as the world’s tenth best-selling album of the year and the number-one top-selling R&B album in the United States, moving over 1,510,000 album-equivalent units domestically. The initial songwriting process began in February 2019 in Hawaii, where Doja Cat wrote half of the album during a vacation following a relationship breakup.
