Art for Freedom asked me to reinterpret one of Shepard Fairey’s (obeygiant) posters celebrating our First Amendment freedoms (swipe to the end to see his original). I chose to illustrate Freedom of Assembly because it highlights the importance of community and collective action.  I’ve always loved how art and design go hand in hand with community engagement. There’s so much comfort in knowing that our creativity can be used to spread messages that support what we believe in. There’s real strength in numbers - when we show up for each other collectively, we can drive real change.  To me, freedom means expressing myself, creating work that reflects my own values, and connecting with others online and in daily life.
