Made a circle bag for the first time 🪡 Ever since those Orseund Iris circle tote bags were trending a few years ago, I’ve always wanted to try making my own version. 3 things I would’ve done differently:
- Used a different fabric, at least something with more structure. I only had about a day to make this for a last minute brand collab and my only options were from my fabric cubbies. Here I used some random lightweight quilting cotton, but it wasn’t bad for a first sample. I’ll definitely be doing this in denim or even leather. Canvas would be a great option too.
- Used a better interfacing or stabilizer, instead of only quilt batting. It was great for texture, horrible for keeping shape.
- Used a thicker thread or contrast stitching to have the stitches show better. That part took quite a while and it blended in too much with the fabric, but it’s still one of my favorite parts of this bag!
