If you take a regular wine glass and throw it at the ground it shatters. However if you take this same material (soda like glass) and make it into a sphere the properties change very quickly. We wanted to test how durable glass spheres could be, both annealed and un-annealed. (Annealing is the process of cooling glass off over a long period of time in a high temperature over to reduce stress points in the glass). We did this test my throwing them off my garage roof!
