Prevent injury in your Hyrox training
The best injury prevention strategy isn’t taking time off.
It’s making your body more resilient.
1. Prioritize soft tissue work
Tight muscles become restricted muscles.
Restricted muscles create compensations.
Spend time on:
Foam rolling
Massage
Lacrosse ball work
Mobility drills
You don’t need hours.
Just enough to keep your body moving well.
2. Train end ranges and build durability
Most injuries happen in positions you’re not strong enough to control.
Build strength in those positions.
Things I like:
Jefferson curls
Achilles isometrics
Hip flexor strengthening
Copenhagen planks
Single-leg work
End-range isometrics
For runners specifically, strong hips are non-negotiable.
Better hips usually mean better running mechanics and fewer injuries.
3. Recover harder
Most athletes focus on training harder.
The best athletes focus on recovering better.
Prioritize:
More sleep
Better sleep
Proper nutrition
Hydration
Contrast therapy
Walking
