Story Book 735: 🧡 MOTHER TERESA (1910–1997)
A woman who owned almost nothing, yet touched millions of lives.
Born on 26 August 1910 in Skopje (present-day North Macedonia) as Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, Mother Teresa felt a deep calling to serve God and humanity from a young age.
At just 18 years old, she left her home and family forever.
She joined the Sisters of Loreto and traveled to India, where she would spend the rest of her life serving those who were poor, sick, abandoned, and forgotten.
🌍 In the streets of Kolkata, she witnessed immense suffering.
Many walked past.
She stopped.
Many turned away.
She stayed.
Many saw problems.
She saw people.
In 1950, she founded the Missionaries of Charity, an organization dedicated to caring for the poorest of the poor.
❤️ Her mission was simple:
Love people.
Serve people.
Care for people.
Especially those whom the world ignored.
🏆 In 1979, she received the Nobel Peace Prize for her humanitarian work.
