Micron options are $3 wide. SanDisk even wider. Jim Schultz shows two tricks to find fair value when the bid-ask spread is so wide that the mid price alone is not enough. First: matching vertical spreads across the chain at the same strikes must sum to the width of the spread. Start with the out-of-the-money side where markets are tighter and back into fair value on the in-the-money side. Second: use the extrinsic value column on the platform. For out-of-the-money options the extrinsic value IS the fair value. Forget the bid. Forget the ask. Start there and do your price discovery from that anchor point.
