Florida State football dealt with plenty of departures via the transfer portal this offseason, but the Seminoles were able to retain a couple of talented players on their roster. Obviously, pieces such as wide receiver Duce Robinson, defensive linemen Mandrell and Darryll Desir, and cornerback Ja’Bril Rawls were top priorities for the coaching staff. However, one player that no one is really talking about is tight end Landen Thomas. The former four-star prospect from the 2024 cycle has shown flashes during his time with the Seminoles, but he only recorded three receptions for 35 yards and two touchdowns last season. Florida State added ECU’s Desirrio Riles via the transfer portal, and he has received positive reviews from the coaching staff. This makes fans wonder if Landen Thomas will bounce back in 2026, especially with the program’s decision to bring him back to the roster after entering the transfer portal.
