Imagine if these became the official NBA Finals logos. Between 2003 and 2005, the National Basketball Association contemplated many different design concepts for rebranding the NBA Finals logo, which led to to some unique designs that looked nothing like the version basketball fans know today. From bold retro artwork to redesigned Finals scripts and creative ways of incorporating the iconic Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy, they were leading the charge in one of the most creative eras in sports branding. It’s interesting to see witness how close NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and others prior to him change logos every so often.
