How strong is the average gym-goer? We looked at millions of real workouts to find out. 🔬 🏋️‍♀️ Most strength charts are built on people who log every lift and chase maxes, but that's not accurate for most of us. So we went to a different source, the actual working weights millions of users recorded in Fitbod, from beginners to veterans alike. 🏋️ The barbell "big four" aren't what most people train. More Fitbod users log dumbbell bench than barbell bench. Most people train dumbbells, cables, and machines and that reflects how our users work out in the real world. 📊 On barbell bench press, the typical man lifts 110 lb in their first session and 172 lb by their 100th. For women, it's 45 lb to 85 lb. 📈 When we followed the same lifters from session 1 to session 100, the typical bench gain was about 30%; real and meaningful, but a lot more honest than most strength standards imply.
