Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto VI is being compared to one of the world's biggest construction projects, with estimates suggesting its development budget could match - or exceed - the $1.5bn cost of building the Burj Khalifa.
The Burj Khalifa took around six years to complete, while GTA VI has reportedly been in development for more than a decade with a budget estimated at up to $2bn, placing it in the same financial bracket as a global megastructure.
With over 10 years of development behind it, GTA VI is increasingly being viewed less as a traditional game release - and more as a global mega-project on an unprecedented scale.
