A large sinkhole opened in a residential area in southwestern Japan, swallowing in part a garage and a motorcycle and forcing nearby residents to evacuate, Japanese broadcaster Nippon TV reported. Police said they had received a report that a road had caved in. The sinkhole measures about 30 feet long, 20 feet wide, and 16 feet deep. As a precaution, residents from around 20 nearby households were advised to evacuate due to the risk of the sinkhole expanding incident occurred due to heavy rainfall in recent days. #japan #rainfall #news
