The inspiration for our space at THE MART SHOWHOUSE is the studiolo, a special room found in many 15th-century houses and palaces that was set aside for study, contemplation, creativity, and, if one was lucky, wine. I interpreted the idea as a quiet retreat for the modern-day Luddite. A no-technology office. As always, I approached the design through collections, layering textures, time periods, and emotions to create a space that feels thoughtful, personal, and lived in. A studiolo is solitary by design. This room wasn’t—it took vendor partners willing to say yes before they’d seen a single sketch. By popular request, we have expanded the hours of THE MART SHOWHOUSE!
