We've got another season completed for flag football in Section 1 and the Lower Hudson Valley. There was growth in the game in terms of participation, as Section 1 grew to 36 flag football teams in 2026. Yorktown became the second Section 1 team to win a state championship, winning the Class B title, joining the 2025 Scarsdale team which won the Class A title. These selections include players on teams in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam. Selections are made based on performance during the high school season.
